Hello fine friends!
As per usual, it has been a while since I've had the time to sit down and type up a post, but I figured it wouldn't take too long to share some fun news!
In early January, (Happy New Year!), I was contacted by another blog out of LA called "The Couch Bros" - essentially people who are trying to inspire others to get off the couch, by telling other peoples stories. These little looks into peoples lives show the day-to-day tasks of people across the globe, as well as their plans for the future. So, I am incredibly honored to be among the many featured on this wonderful site! In the process of writing for the post however, I realized I might as well share it directly on here as well - here's a little closer look into my own life!
1. What is something not too many people know about you?
Something that I’ve really just started learning about myself even, is that I’m an introvert. Through social media, as well as in person, I come off as pretty outgoing, but I actually have a fair amount of social anxiety. I think as an actor you get comfortable
talking to people and “performing”, but sometimes it’s hard to remember that it shouldn’t be the same thing. So when I can, I try to take some time out for myself
2. What are your biggest passions or hobbies?
Acting. I’ve gotten pretty fortunate because
I’m currently pursuing a BFA in Acting, combining
work with pleasure! As a kid I was always making
up skits for my friends and I to perform, and I never really shook that. Aside from acting however, I’m very big on sewing and needlework. About a year ago I started working in the costume studio at my university for some extra money to put towards tuition, and it quickly became an escape from my day to day stresses. I’ve always been an old soul, so I guess it makes sense that I’m now even sewing in my free time.
3. What are your goals for the future?
At the moment I’ve got a few! Ultimately I want to be a full-time working actor in either Chicago, or wherever performance should take me. I’m very interested in exploring acting in the film industry, so I’m hoping this next year will lend itself to experiences outside of just stage performance. Eventually, I’d also really love to get my masters in drama, whether that be in the near future, or further down the road.
4. What is your definition of success?
I think success for me can be measured in happiness. I’ve never really equated making money with success, (I am a theatre major after all), but I think it’s really important for people to enjoy the life they have. When I am feeling good about who I am and where I am at, and I know the people around me feel the same - that’s a pretty successful day.
5. Tell us something about the projects you're currently working on.
I’ve taken a break from performing over the holidays, but I’m currently preparing for some big auditions coming up in the next few weeks!
